This gas card comes with a bonus offer available to new cardholders, who can earn up to $0.50 off per gallon of gas purchased at Sunoco during the first 30 days of account ownership.
You'll receive your normal $0.05 off per gallon of gas directly at the pump and the remainder off per gallon in the form of a statement credit.

What could be improved
The Sunoco Rewards Credit Card has some issues that could be improved.
Minimal discount
The Sunoco Rewards Credit Card offers savings on gas, but the discount is small -- just $0.05 on every gallon filled at Sunoco gas stations.
That discount may not be worthwhile, depending on your car and how much you drive. For example, if you have a vehicle with a 15-gallon gas tank and only fill up three times a month, you'll only save $2.25 each month on gasoline.
No rewards
Another thing to remember is that beyond the discount on gas and the limited-time bonus offer, this card doesn't earn cash back or any other rewards. If you want to get rewarded for your spending in ways other than with a reduced fuel price, this probably isn't the right card for you.
If you want to maximize your credit card rewards, look for a card that offers cash back on gas spending in addition to a direct discount on gas purchases -- not to mention rewards on other purchases, such as travel or groceries.
Limited perks
While this credit card includes a bonus offer for new cardholders and promises discounts on gas when purchased at Sunoco gas stations, the card lacks other benefits.

Lackluster bonus
New cardholders can get up to $0.50 off per gallon of gas bought at Sunoco during the first 30 days of account opening. The first $0.05 is provided as a direct discount at the pump, while the additional $0.45 is applied as a statement credit.
This is a nice incentive, but it's not the best welcome offer we've seen. There are lots of credit card types out there in addition to gas rewards cards that offer a bonus of $200 or more to new cardholders.
High APR
The Sunoco Rewards Credit Card has a variable APR of 31.74% -- a high interest rate.
When using a credit card, your best bet is to charge what you can afford and pay the statement balance off in full every month. Doing this will avoid racking up interest.
If you occasionally carry a balance, you may want to get a different card with a lower APR or even an intro 0% APR to minimize your interest charges.
